Mojito

Although Mojito has many variations with different fruits such as peach, coconut, mango, raspberry, passion fruit, and strawberry, the classic recipe is still predominant.
Servings 1 drink

Ingredients

  • 50 ml White Rum
  • 1 piece Tahiti Lemon
  • 12 pieces Fresh Mint Leaves
  • 2 tbsp Refined Sugar
  • 25 ml Club Soda
  • 1 branch Mint

Instructions

  • Wash the lemon, cut into 4 and squeeze into the glass.
  • Add the sugar, lemon wedges, mint leaves and press gently using a bartender or caipirinha macerator to release the natural oil from the leaves.
  • Fill the glass with half the ice, add the rum and mix with the spoon.
  • Add the club soda, fill with ice and garnish with the mint sprig.

Notes

The Mojito is a little more work than other cocktails because it involves muddling the mint well, but the result is worth the effort. The mint combined with the other ingredients for an extra dose of refreshment is often associated with summer but can be enjoyed at any time.
